We care and are concerned for the many widows around the world living in poverty. We need your help to get them medical assistance, as well as shelter, food and water. With your Sadaqah jaria we can help many women whose partners have died and have been left stranded without any help or support.
What is Sadaqah jaria?
The word Sadaqah comes from the root word ‘Sidq’ which means truth, Sadaqah Jaria means continuous/ ongoing charity. Continuous charity is an action that remains active, even after the person who does it has died.
How you can help
We are aiming to provide 60,000 rupees for 40 widows for the first year. As the years go on, the number of widows we can help will hopefully increase. We are hoping to do this by opening a dairy farm, with your help we can make this possible.
We would like to purchase 20 cows for 324000 rupees. One cow produces approximately 10 litres of milk a day, so for 20 cows this would total 200litres/day. This will be sold for a total of 18000 rupees a day. This means we would earn 6,750,000 rupees a year.
When the cows have calves we will sell them for 30,000 rupees each. If each cow has one calf this equals 600,000 rupees. The total expenditure on cows in the first year will be equal to one third of the income generated by selling milk. Because of the calves sold and the reduced expenses, we will have money left over after giving 40 widows their annual payment. This money will be invested in the following year Insha‘Allah.
With your donations we will provide each widow with 60,000 rupees a year to help pay for their food, water, clothes, medicine and much more!
