Reclaim Gift Aid

Gift Aid It!Add 25% more to your donation at no cost to you. A Gift Aid declaration allows Save The Mother Trust to claim tax back on eligible donations. It means that for every £1 you donate to Save The Mothers Trust we can claim back 25p, at no extra cost to you.

By ticking the "Yes" box, I agree I would like Save The Mothers Trust to reclaim the tax on all qualifying donations I have made, as well as any future donations, until I notify them otherwise. I understand that if I pay less Income Tax and/or Capital Gains Tax than the amount of Gift Aid claimed on all my donations in that tax year I may be asked to pay any difference. I understand that Save The Mothers Trust will reclaim 25p of tax on every £1 that I give.

What is Gift Aid?

Gift Aid does not cost you a penny more, but can add an additional 25p to every £1 you donate. When Save The Mothers Trust receives a donation from a UK taxpayer, we're entitled to claim an amount of tax (calculated at the basic rate of income tax in that year) paid on that donation. Once you have given your permission for us to do this on your behalf, there is no need for you to do anything else.

All that is required is that you must be a taxpayer and that would have paid or will pay sufficient Income and/or Capital Gains Tax to cover all the Gift Aid claimed on all your donations in that tax year. Please note that it is your responsibility to pay any difference.

The amount of tax we claim will be 25% of the total value of your donations in that tax year. Furthermore, if you are a higher taxpayer, you are also entitled to claim the difference between the basic rate which we will claim and the amount of tax you have actually paid. For further details on how you can do this, please contact your tax office. If your tax situation changes and your gifts will no longer be eligible for the Gift Aid scheme please contact us and we will amend your record accordingly.

Schools, Training and Youth development are our goals when trying to provide education for every child.

“Of course, I would like to go to school, but how can I? Every morning, I have to help my mother with the preparation and selling of chapatis; I have to do that, because otherwise, we would not have enough to eat.”
This is the answer of a little girl in one of the crowded streets in Northern Pakistan, when asked why she did not attend school, she replied fully conscious of the responsibility she assumes for her family, at the age of 9 years.

Fact: (UNICEF survey)
Net primary school attendance in:
UK: 99%
Pakistan: 46%

There are over 1 billion illiterate adults around the world today.
To be illiterate in modern times is to live in a hostile and confusing world. Millions of boys and girls around the world are still being left out. In the developing world, children from the poorest households are four times less likely to attend a school than those from the richest. 115 million children worldwide of primary school age aren’t enrolled in any kind of school program at all.

Education should be a right for every child – not just those who live in a developed country, or those who come from wealthier families. In most developing countries, public school is not free. The costs of books, uniforms, and teachers’ salaries are borne by the students’ families.

Illiteracy is highest amongst females. In more than 20 developing countries, illiteracy rates amongst women exceed 70%. An integral part of our development program is to promote self-sufficiency and independence via education and training.
SMT believes, for a community to be able to become independent it requires good foundations; therefore, good academic education will produce professionals. These professionals will become assets for tomorrow.

In view of this, SMT has started providing assistance to upgrade current schools in the given areas of NWFP, by providing financial funding, books and other educational material to the institutions.
We currently sponsor and support 76 schools in Pakistan, Kashmir and West Africa, with a total number of more than 5000 students, some residents whilst others just attending school during normal school hours. The Schools provide the students with secular education as well as Islamic education.

We understand that in order to move along with this ever-changing society it is vital to keep up with information and technology. With this in mind, we have set up computer centres, which provide students and local residents access to regular computer training. We provide monthly financial help and support to a Primary School in Marcory, Abidjan, West Africa.
In November 2017 we provided 101 school benches to the school and this school provides education to over 200 poor children.

“Education is the passport to the future, for tomorrow belongs to
those who prepare for it today” Malcolm X
