It’s all about our mothers

Save the Mothers Trust

“We have enjoined on man kindness to his parents; in pain did his mother bear him, and in pain did she give him birth” (Quran 46:15).

At Save the Mothers’ Trust, we believe a mother is the cornerstone of every family. Without the mother, there can be no child. And without the child there can be no future. Please support us during Ramadan and sponsor a mother for only £30 a month / £360 annually. Remember, by saving the mother you’re helping save the future.

  • FACT: Nearly 600,000 children under 5yrs old, die each year in Pakistan

Our Prophet Muhammad, may Allah’s peace and blessings be upon him, taught us that heaven lies under the feet of our mothers (Ahmad, Nasai), yet maternal mortality rates remain tragically high across large parts of rural Pakistan and Africa.

One of the main factors behind these deaths is the dire lack of skilled midwives, so most births are conducted by unskilled people, and there are usually no proper referral systems for complicated childbirth cases.

This Ramadan we’re aiming to make a positive change by building and equipping a maternity unity in the rural areas of the NWFP. To do this, we need to urgently raise £250,000.

Don’t let more mothers and young babies die unnecessarily: Donate now – let’s end this travesty together, Insha’Allah.

Education; where does it start from? It’s the mother. She is always there, guiding, supporting, disciplining, loving and caring for her children. So, what happens when the mother is widowed, trying to bring up her children as best as she can, alone? Where does the money come from? Who supports her? How can she finance her children’s education? This is where SMT comes in. We believe that by financially supporting the mother, the child can be educated, rather than have to go to work to help support the family.

Education is the key to success. But for it to succeed, you have to look to the mother, because without her support and encouragement, the child won’t feel able or willing to attend school and receive a proper education. £5 per month will pay for the tuition fees for one child. And £20 per month will pay for all living expenses for one poor child. It will stop child labour and will give an opportunity to these kids to learn, develop and prosper. Children are increasingly being exploited for hard work and cheap labour in less economically developed countries; truly a global tragedy.

We urgently require donations so very poor and widowed mothers can receive proper financial support to put their children through an education. ONLY £5 per month will provide tuition fees for one child and £20 per month will cover all living expenses of a child in a hostel.

We promote the idea of self sufficiency and independence via education and training. SMT believes for a community to be able to become independent it requires good foundations; therefore, good academic education will produce professionals. These professionals will become assets for tomorrow.

For children to be taught necessary subjects, such as Maths, English, Science and IT, they require qualified teaching staff. £50 per month will pay a teachers’ salary and feed his/her poor household.

£30 a month will help support a widowed mother, feed, clothe and educate their children. Help the mother, help the child, save the future through education.

Feed the mother; feed the child. It’s that simple really. Help us end poverty by supporting the widowed mother. By donating to our Sponsor a Mother campaign, we are able to help the mother survive. And if she survives, her children will too. It’s 2016 and people shouldn’t be dying of poverty. There should be enough food in this world for everyone. But of course it’s not as simple as that, is it?

Many of the widows or impoverished mothers that we support have to make harsh decisions between heating, rent, electricity and food, so they do not enjoy the luxury of daily nutritious meals for themselves or their children.  That’s not an easy thing for us to imagine.

We’re not going to end world poverty but your donations will make a world of difference.

Help provide a much needed lifeline to a widowed mother. Just £30pm will help her feed, clothe and educate her children.

Please donate now and earn her gratitude and prayers. Feed the mother; feed the child.
