By the Grace of Allah [most high] we are absolutely delighted to announce that Save the Mothers Trust [SMT] was awarded ‘Charity of the Year’ at last night’s #BritishMuslimAwards 2019.
Despite a battle against other leading charities SMT not only made the shortlist but also went on to win the award!
This truly is a remarkable achievement.
Mohammad Shahid, Project Manager said, ‘‘it really was humbling to receive the award at last night’s prestigious ceremony, we’d like to thank the organisers for recognising our contribution’’.
SMT started its journey in 2003 and we currently have 20 live projects in 10 different countries. Our focus lies on long term projects and making people self-sufficient, alongside these projects our emergency relief efforts also continue across the world.
SMT is based in Bradford and our UK projects include a food bank and a soup kitchen.
Ibrar Hussain, SMT’S spokesperson said, ‘’we’re not a charity that people see in front of their television screens or hear about on the radio yet, we are extremely proud that our work benefits people from across the globe as well as right here in the UK’’.
SMT would like to take this opportunity to wholeheartedly thank its fantastic donors, volunteers, supporters & well-wishers because without them we wouldn’t be able to continue with our work.
On behalf of our founder, Shaykh Mufti Qazi Hassan Raza our chair, Dr Zaroon Hussain, project manager Mohammed Shahid & our trustees, thank you to everyone for their continued support, good words, kind wishes and prayers.
May Allah (most high) grant us the ability to continue in our efforts to serve the poor and needy.
